FAYETTEVILLE STATE UNIVERSITY THEATRE TAKES THE FRINGE STAGE
Be A Wolf is an original production (written by Merlyn Q. Sell) performed by students from Fayetteville State University (FSU)—a public HBCU (Historically Black College and University) located in Fayetteville, North Carolina, USA.
Be A Wolf is a darkly funny, emotionally charged ensemble piece about fear, identity, and the things we think are outside of us—but maybe never were.
A group gathers inside a hall, waiting for the night to pass. Something is out there—watching, waiting, lurking just beyond the door. They tell themselves stories about it, about what it wants, about what it means to survive. As long as they stay inside, they are safe. As long as they keep the light on, they are untouched. As long as they hold their ground, they are not like it.
But fear twists fast. And soon, the question isn’t just what’s out there—it’s what they might become.
This original production explores what happens when you stop running from the Monster—and start listening to it.
